Willian Ferreira, 30, is a photographer, audiovisual director and teacher. He graduated in Philosophy from the Institute of Culture and Art of the Federal University of Ceará (2015), and is currently studying for a master's degree in Image Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (2022). During his training, he was also a student of the Photography course and the Visual Arts Laboratory at the Porto Iracema School of Arts (2016-2018), under the guidance of visual artist Alexandre Sequeira.
In his curriculum in visual arts and audiovisual, he participated in several national and international festivals and exhibitions, namely the International Concrete Festival of Urban Art, the “Encontros de Agosto” Salon, the QXAS Festival – Central Sertão Photography Festival, the Nóia University Film Festival, Cine Ceará: International Ibero-American Film Festival, and the Ceará Art Season at the Dragão do Mar Center for Art and Culture, in Fortaleza, Ceará.
In cinema, he took on the direction of photography for the film “Quando o Mar” (2018), by Lua Alencar, selected for the 28th Cine Ceará and the 69th edition of Salão de Abril. He was also the director of photography for the feature film “Santiago do Chile - 1985” (2021), by Thiago Fortes. In addition, he was nominated as a director for the Mucuripe trophy for best short film at the 29th Cine Ceará - Ibero-American Film Festival for directing the film “Onde Cidade é Comida, Saudade é Fome” (Where the City is Food, Longing is Hunger) (2019).
He is currently participating in the artistic residency "Project Rooms", organized by the Ci.CLO platform, as part of the Porto Photography Biennial. During this residency, he is developing a physical and virtual portfolio for the project "The Flying Medusa of Alfena".
